Modern Luxury Flat at the Heart of Singapore by RENOSTUD.IO

Perched high above Singapore’s urban core, this modern luxury flat by RENOSTUD.IO is conceived as a welcoming home shaped around connection, outlook and atmosphere.

Created for a couple working in the financial services sector, the interior leans into a sense of calm sophistication while placing strong emphasis on hosting, movement and shared experiences, all framed by far-reaching views towards the city skyline.

From the outset, the homeowners prioritised entertaining. An early decision to remove one of the original rooms allowed the main living and dining areas to be reconfigured into a generous open-plan arrangement, encouraging guests to circulate naturally during gatherings. Clear sightlines and an uncluttered layout support this intention, ensuring that hosting feels effortless rather than staged.

A striking round mirror anchors the dining area and acts as both an architectural feature and a visual device. Framed by handmade fluted panels, the mirror amplifies the sense of openness while reflecting the skyline beyond, extending the city view deeper into the home. Integrated strip lighting behind the mirror enhances its presence after dark, while a hand-wrapped backing finished with blue ribbons casts a subtle glow at eye level, softening complexions and adding a considered layer of warmth.

Material selection was guided by the owners’ preference for a modern luxurious character and a shared affection for deep blue tones. Richly veined marble surfaces introduce movement and refinement, balanced by a tightly edited palette of white, cream, dark blue and restrained gold accents. Gold laminates and trims are used sparingly, ensuring that the overall mood remains elegant rather than ornate.

Darker hues are concentrated along the lower portions of the home to create a grounded, composed atmosphere. This approach is evident in the dark blue kitchen cabinetry, living and dining furniture, and the upholstered headboard in the main bedroom. In the common bathroom, dark grey tiles reinforce this sense of visual weight and contrast against lighter finishes elsewhere.

Walls are treated as an opportunity for texture rather than left bare. In the living area, cream wallpaper with a fabric-like finish wraps the room, adding tactility and depth while softening acoustics. This layered approach contributes to a feeling of comfort without detracting from the clean lines of the interior.

Custom elements play a significant role throughout the apartment. Fluted panels reappear at the dining wall and along the entrance cabinetry, creating a cohesive visual language from the moment one enters. In the main bedroom, a bespoke fabric headboard introduces softness and calm, offering a gentle counterpoint to the more dramatic materials used elsewhere in the home.

The apartment measures 1004 square feet and was originally configured as a five-room flat in Toa Payoh, located on the 20th floor. Through careful reworking of the layout and a disciplined material strategy, RENOSTUD.IO has crafted a home that balances city-facing drama with intimate comfort, perfectly suited to both lively social gatherings and quiet retreat at the end of the day.
