Lynton Residence by STN Projects

Located just above Adelaide's skyline, Lynton Residence by STN Projects is defined by its quiet confidence and connection to place.

Designed and built by the studio, the home is intentionally embedded into its sloping site, establishing a solid presence while gently opening up to its surroundings. A sense of spatial progression guides the experience of the home, compressing and expanding in measured moments, until the full panorama of ocean views is gradually revealed through open decks, an elevated living zone and a cliffside pool terrace.

As a fully integrated design and build project, the residence reflects a unified vision throughout. Every element has been considered for both form and function, resulting in a home that is as enduring as it is inviting. The architecture balances grounded solidity with openness, offering privacy while remaining visually and physically connected to the landscape. The interior layout, elevated above the terrain, was conceived to frame constantly shifting views, from misty mornings to expansive sunsets, ensuring the natural surrounds remain part of the daily experience.

The interiors continue this sense of balance, expressed through a palette of muted neutrals, natural stone and warm timber. These materials are complemented by refined textural elements and bespoke fixtures, giving the home its own quiet character. Tactility plays a key role across surfaces and finishes, reinforcing the idea of a residence designed to be lived in, touched and experienced slowly.

Throughout, there's a clear emphasis on proportion, light and material honesty. The spaces are open yet considered, offering moments of compression and release that feel purposeful rather than performative. While luxurious in detail, the home remains understated in tone, its identity shaped not by ornamentation, but by restraint and clarity.

By aligning construction and design under one roof, STN Projects was able to retain creative integrity across every stage. Lynton Residence stands as a refined response to both its site and its inhabitants, offering a grounded, expansive way of living shaped by the surrounding landscape and a meticulous attention to craft.
