Silver Linings by Together Design Studio

Silver Linings by Together Design Studio reimagines a once-underwhelming primary suite, distilling it into a serene retreat where indulgence and practicality find measured balance.

Defined by a soft tonal palette, tactile materials, and refined detailing, the transformation introduces a new dimension of calm and intimacy within the broader architectural framework of the home.

After a decade in residence, the clients sought more than an update in function. Their brief was to create a sanctuary, a suite that encouraged pause and restoration, while responding to the pragmatic needs of daily life. Together Design Studio's response was both spatial and atmospheric, restructuring the footprint while carefully layering material and detail.

A strategic reconfiguration underpins the project. The ensuite was expanded to accommodate a steam shower, freestanding bath, and double vanity, elevating the daily ritual of bathing into a moment of retreat. A former study was converted into a hybrid walk-in robe and workspace, maximising utility without eroding the sense of calm. The arrangement balances comfort with efficiency, ensuring every element has purpose within the suite's new program.

Materiality forms the backbone of the project's identity. Handmade grey-green tiles, with their glossy surfaces and shifting reflections, bring depth while echoing the silver and grey tones found elsewhere in the home. A honed grey marble vanity top anchors the ensuite, its natural veining offering quiet contrast to the clean geometry of the fittings. Mosaic floors enhance the tactile quality underfoot, while polished chrome fixtures introduce timeless elegance without visual excess.

Softness is introduced through layered elements: sheer curtains diffuse daylight, oak joinery lends warmth to the ensemble, and custom metal accents articulate moments of refinement. Together, these interventions temper the home's inherent architectural rigour, softening its presence while maintaining a seamless dialogue with the existing aesthetic.

The result is not a suite that announces itself, but one that gently unfolds. Highly detailed yet understated, Silver Linings creates an immersive, restorative environment that integrates seamlessly into the language of the home. At once functional and indulgent, it redefines the primary suite as a place of daily renewal, elevating an overlooked corner of the house into a destination of quiet luxury.
