Roses Lace by EDXXKAT
Roses Lace by EDXXKAT draws on the romance and decorative language of the 19th century to create a boutique that feels closer to an intimate gallery than a conventional retail interior.
Conceived around the idea of a "Garden under the yellow moon", the design balances theatricality with refinement, using light, material and contrast to place every garment at the centre of the experience.
The interior is defined by a monochromatic palette of deep glossy black and luminous white. Walls, mirror frames, ceiling details and drapery are finished in reflective black, creating an immersive backdrop that dissolves into shadow. Cutting through this dark envelope is a series of illuminated white niches, each displaying a single dress crafted from silk, satin, crêpe de chine or velvet. Displayed on slender brass rails, every piece is presented as an individual work, with the light contained inside each niche drawing attention back to the garments throughout the boutique.
The composition borrows from the language of theatre, where darkness frames moments of focus. White lightboxes act like miniature stages, while a warm ceiling lightbox evokes the glow of a golden moon above. Pastel floral motifs applied against glossy black surfaces reinforce the brand's identity, introducing softness and romance without overwhelming the restrained architectural palette.
Every furnishing was custom designed for the boutique, contributing to a cohesive visual language. The brushed stainless steel reception desk is positioned within its own illuminated recess and framed by pleated curtains, while wall sconces with softly pleated shades reference historical interiors through subtle detailing. Large octagonal mirrors finished in matching black lacquer reflect the illuminated displays, extending views through the boutique and amplifying the interplay between light and shadow.
Towards the rear, the atmosphere becomes softer and more intimate. Curved sofas upholstered in floral print with fur trim make their debut alongside oversized white shearling poufs and a low black coffee table accented by a single rose. This lounge introduces warmth and comfort while maintaining the boutique's carefully controlled palette and romantic character.
Private fitting rooms continue the sense of comfort with soft carpeting, concealed doors and generous proportions. A manually adjustable lighting system allows visitors to fine-tune both brightness and colour temperature while trying on garments, creating a more personal experience that accommodates different fabrics and individual preferences.
