Rificolona by Miniforms
The 2025 launch continues the brand’s dedication to material experimentation and sustainability, while embracing a refined, sculptural form language.
Founded in the 1970s and rebranded in 2009, Miniforms is known for its poetic, playful approach to contemporary living. The Italian family-run company produces its collections entirely in Italy, combining traditional craftsmanship with technological innovation, and placing an emphasis on environmental responsibility across every detail.
Rificolona marks a further step in this ethos. The collection centres around a lightweight, translucent lampshade made entirely from recycled polyethylene (PE). Reclaimed from industrial and household waste, the material is sorted by type to ensure purity, then processed at low temperatures to preserve its remelting potential—forming part of a closed-loop, circular system.
Far from purely utilitarian, the PE shade also contributes to the collection’s visual and atmospheric appeal. Its surface is gently textured with sprayed fragments of the same material, producing a subtle, layered opacity that diffuses light with a sense of softness and depth. The resulting glow is suggestive, quiet, and adaptable to a wide range of domestic or public settings.
Originally conceived as a ceiling pendant, Rificolona integrates a patented mechanism that allows the lamp to tilt and adjust on its axis. A small black sphere connects the two suspension cables—by sliding the sphere, the lamp can be rotated from a horizontal position to vertical, or held at any point in between.
The full Rificolona family includes three sizes (Ø50, Ø80 and Ø120) and is available in pendant, floor and desk formats. Regardless of scale, each iteration retains the same expressive clarity and tactile surface—qualities that establish an ongoing dialogue with its surroundings.
