KILZI at BAR AMORE, 3daysofdesign
As part of 3daysofdesign, Kilzi joined Bar Amore in Frederiksberg for Flowers Unite Us, a three-day exhibition and dining experience that brought together lighting, crafted objects, food and drinks. The event explored the universal appeal of flowers as a point of connection across cultures, generations and forms of creative expression.
The collaboration grew from an existing relationship between Kilzi and Bar Amore, whose lamps had been part of the bar since its opening in 2024. During 3daysofdesign, the connection developed into a shared presentation shaped by the contrast between Bar Amore's contemporary, minimal and product-oriented setting and Kilzi's focus on human connection, sensibility and the distinctive qualities of craftsmanship. Floral-inspired works introduced a softer, more tactile presence to the setting, drawing on the Mediterranean character shared by both Kilzi and Bar Amore, as well as the warmth of June and the traditions of summer festivities.
For the presentation, Kilzi brought together a series of handmade shades in fibreglass and textile fibres, loosely shaped like flowers and developed from earlier versions of the Japanese-made Feather lamps. Arranged across the bar in a series of domestic scenarios, the pieces explored different ways flowers might inhabit a home, from blooms suspended from the ceiling and left to dry, inspired by traditional Swiss houses, to a single flower pinned to a wall, a hanging bloom and a table lamp set on an aluminium base.
At Bar Amore, the floral installations were experienced alongside the rituals of dining and gathering. Founded by Lea Parkins and Philip Skovgaard, the bar hosted guests with dinner, drinks and curated music in a relaxed setting, allowing the lighting and objects to be encountered as part of an evening shaped by food, conversation and hospitality.
The event also brought together a selection of crafted objects from makers across different disciplines and locations. Hand-hammered brass candle holders by Jorge Suárez-Kilzi were presented alongside borosilicate glassware by Justine Menard, a hand-hammered tin jug from Seikado in Kyoto, carved birchwood spoons by Kyungwon Hwang, handmade porcelain, Damascus steel and rattan pieces, and a stainless steel table by Marlot Baus. Together, the works extended the presentation's focus on material, craft and the tactile qualities of objects made for everyday use.
Flowers Unite Us formed part of Kilzi's wider programme during 3daysofdesign, where the Barcelona-based brand presented its work through one hosted event and two collaborative exhibitions. At Bar Amore, lighting, objects and hospitality came together through a shared appreciation for flowers, craftsmanship and the human connections formed around everyday rituals.
