Casey Casey Showroom by Atelier NEA

Atelier NEA has completed the first showroom concept for French fashion house Casey Casey, transforming a former dance school in Paris into a layered environment for work, presentation, image-making, and private retreat.

Located in the heart of Pigalle, the project occupies two floors of an 1882 historical building distinguished by its steel window fixtures and generous street-facing presence. The existing architecture offered a rare framework for the brand, with a double-height volume, crown mouldings, a mezzanine, and a large steel-framed window overlooking the boulevard. These elements were carefully preserved, allowing the intervention to build on the character of the site while preparing it for a new programme.

The showroom is conceived as a flexible creative ground for the brand’s evolving needs. It can host Paris Fashion Week presentations, support photography for editorial and e-commerce use, and accommodate the daily operations of the house. Above, the mezzanine serves as an office-studio for founder and Artistic Director Gareth Casey. To the rear, a private apartment introduces a quieter domestic layer dedicated to rest and retreat.

The rehabilitation focused on three essential interventions that allowed the historic structure to support its new programme. The walls, ceilings, and floors were insulated to improve energy performance, while the large steel window structure was preserved and fitted with new glazing. Additional windows were also installed. The mezzanine was rebuilt from the ground up for structural stability, and the staircase was moved from the back of the space to the front, closer to the double-height volume and the street-facing window.

This repositioning gives the showroom a more open and inviting sequence. The original layout already carried a sense of welcome, and the new arrangement heightens that quality by keeping the central space fluid. Stairs, storage, and kitchen are gathered along a continuous built-in wall, allowing circulation to remain clear while guiding visitors toward the mezzanine. The intervention creates a practical spine for the showroom without overwhelming the openness of the volume.

The material palette reflects Casey Casey’s preference for natural surfaces, quiet texture, and a lived-in sense of ease. Oak forms the extra-large kitchen, stair, and storage element, bringing warmth and continuity to the interior. In the kitchen, the oak is paired with a Castile stone counter, while the bathrooms introduce subtle touches of Grey Breccia stone. Across the walls and ceilings, thin layers of raw concrete add a soft mineral texture, catching the northern light that enters through the large window.

The palette is restrained but expressive, using natural materials to support the brand’s understated sensibility. Nothing feels overly polished. The showroom retains traces of the existing building while introducing a functional framework suited to contemporary fashion, photography, work, and living.
