Adelaide Design Week every*where

From 20 to 24 August 2025, Adelaide will host its inaugural everywhere — Adelaide Design Week (ADW), a new annual festival dedicated to celebrating South Australia’s creative industries.

Bringing together over 100 designers, makers, studios, and institutions, the program will activate galleries, laneways, and pop-up venues across the CBD with exhibitions, workshops, tours, and talks.

Positioned within Australia’s broader creative economy — valued at A$112 billion nationally — ADW addresses a longstanding gap in South Australia’s cultural calendar. While Melbourne and Sydney have long attracted global attention with their design weeks, Adelaide has yet to establish a flagship design festival of its own. The introduction of ADW aims to strengthen local networks, showcase the depth of South Australian talent, and attract interstate and international visitors during the winter months, benefiting the city’s hospitality and retail sectors.

The five-day festival will highlight work across architecture, interiors, furniture, graphics, and craft, encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration and public engagement. Every event is free or low-cost, with a central festival hub offering wayfinding, daily highlights, and spaces for conversation.
