Established in 2021, HOFFICE is a Seoul-based design office specialising in the overall art and design of architecture, space, furniture, objects, exhibitions, installations, and art direction. Their process is established on the basis of experimentation, exploring various concepts inspired by the context of their given project. Based on a primitive construction method, they strive to study and interpret the contexts of their projects in a more contemporary manner and present a solution.

Bon9 showroom is a store that sells various selections of pet supplies. HOFFICE collaborated with design studio PRACTICE to design and install the furniture for this project.

The space was constructed primarily using juxtaposing objects such as minimalist sculptures. Within a confined space, the team, rather than to reminisce specific functions in form, each individual object corresponded to its own function, while crossing the scales of humans and pets to create a dramatically contrasting sense of volume.

Galvanised steels was used as the main material for this project for its corrosion properties - it is a processed industrial material that prevents the corrosion of iron. The design office attempted to discover a new aesthetic of industrial materials by using pre-processed galvanised steel bolts and screws, or even by plating huge steel sheets or steel angles. At the same time, they wanted to express the subtle colour of galvanised steel humorously by comparing it to pet pee.
