Set within a modern residential complex in Lutsk, FOX Home by Yara Lysiuk reimagines family living through a minimalist lens, blending sculptural gallery-style elements with integrated technology.
Designed for her own family of four, Lysiuk's approach is striking in both its visual clarity and technical precision, choices she acknowledges are bolder than what most of her clients typically request.
The home occupies what was once three compact, open-plan apartments on the ground floor. By combining these units, Lysiuk created a continuous and flexible environment tailored to the everyday rhythms of a couple and their two children, aged 10 and 12. Central to her vision was the creation of a peaceful, clutter-free home that supports both relaxation and productivity. "I aimed to create a visually clean space for both living and working, free from excessive decoration. A place where one can unwind from the visual noise of the world," she explains.
A key spatial gesture was the elimination of traditional partitions in favour of a maze-like flow that connects the master bedroom, open wardrobe, bathroom, and home office. The layout encourages intuitive movement and visual openness, with each zone quietly defined by material and light rather than walls.
In the children's wing, a playful and unexpected feature speaks to Lysiuk's sculptural sensibility: a circular opening between the two symmetrical bedrooms. This detail fosters a sense of connection and interaction between siblings, yet can easily be closed off in the future to allow for privacy as they grow.
Natural light was a core challenge, limited by the apartment's small windows and ground-floor location. To amplify available light, walls, ceilings, and concrete floors were finished in the same soft, pale tone, transforming every surface into a reflector. Lighting is subtle and restrained, task-focused in the kitchen and indirect throughout the rest of the home, bouncing gently off ceilings to enhance the overall atmosphere.
Technical systems are deeply integrated and hidden to preserve the home's serene appearance. Heating and ventilation run beneath the floors, while air conditioning units are concealed within joinery. A silent kitchen hood, with the fan motor tucked into cabinetry and linked to a dedicated duct via floor channels, further contributes to the home's hushed, contemplative feel.
Every detail has been considered to support this calm aesthetic. Custom elements, crafted by local artisans, include concealed power outlets, recessed curtain tracks, and integrated flush buttons. Materials were chosen for their ability to visually recede, emphasising texture and light over ornamentation.
At FOX Home, Lysiuk has created more than a residence, she has shaped a sanctuary for modern family life, where quiet elegance and technical sophistication work in tandem. The result is a refined, thoughtful home that feels as much a personal manifesto as it is a place to live.
