Matching material richness with spatial clarity, Cher's by DualSpace Studio redefines the hair salon as a place of quiet indulgence and refined detail.
Set within an open floor plan, the salon is anchored by a restrained palette of soft neutrals and earthy hues, brought to life through a deliberate orchestration of texture, light, and geometry.
Guests are first greeted by a sculptural descent, an architecturally stepped tiled entrance that leads into a sunken lounge. This considered transition not only distinguishes the salon's threshold but introduces a sense of theatricality. Framed by textured tile walls and bathed in natural light, the sunken sofa area becomes a visual and social anchor, balancing intimacy with openness.
Material tactility forms a central theme throughout. Matte and semi-transparent finishes across surfaces lend a soft elegance, while layered stone, tile, and plaster work together to create a subdued richness. The combination of smooth stone counters and subtly grained tiled walls offers depth and variation without disrupting the salon's minimalism. Overhead, a field of suspended circular lights floats beneath a reflective ceiling, introducing an ethereal quality while diffusing light evenly across the retail and styling areas.
A custom acrylic installation featuring the salon's identity acts as a gentle beacon in the waiting zone, complemented by thoughtful lighting that guides the spatial rhythm. The experience is both sensorial and practical: clients engage with a centrally located stone island to discover and test premium haircare products, while 45-degree rotatable mirrors provide dynamic views for each transformation in progress.
Geometry is carefully deployed as a spatial language. Rectilinear forms dominate the joinery and custom cabinetry, fostering visual order and ease. Storage and display blend seamlessly into the architectural envelope, allowing focus to remain on the service and the individual.
The palette is deliberately muted, allowing natural light from expansive windows to amplify surface variation and enhance spatial perception. From tiled flooring in the wash areas to the matte finishes in the styling zones, every surface is selected to encourage a feeling of calm and clarity.
Cher's by DualSpace Studio moves beyond traditional salon design to offer a composed and layered experience, one that celebrates materiality, invites interaction, and elevates the everyday ritual of self-care.
