SIETE STUDIO

BREAKING PARADIGMS

Siete Studio was founded in 2020 in Mexico City and Australia by Gerardo Cordova, Alexa Fernandez, and Diego Escobedo. It arises from a multidisciplinary fusion that seeks to break paradigms and link directly and uniquely with users, creating a concept that we like to call spatial and sculptural design, which is based on creating a direct link between users, spaces, and meaning.

The name Siete (seven in Spanish) represents the many ways of who the founders are as a creative studio. For them, Siete has a profound meaning that is present in astronomy, culture, mathematics, and nature. The number seven is like a sculpture, it is aesthetically attractive, simple, dynamic, and balanced; They have discovered and continue to discover how this number is a constant in the universe naturally, which makes them feel more related to it over time.

Sometimes design can be too pragmatic, Siete has values such as ergonomics and functionality; however, meaning is one of their core concepts. Not only do they wish to fulfil practical needs, but also idealistic and intangible ones. At the centre of human experience is the need to search for meaning, creating a connection between object and person is one of their visions.

Their objects carry a history not only because of the design, concept and geometry but largely because of the materials from which they are made. Their objective is to create timeless pieces by means of naturally resistant materials that provide a unique value throughout their ageing such as wood, steel, resin, and glass.
