Atelier Cph, a Copenhagen-based design studio, has unveiled its latest art print collection, inspired by the concept of balance.
The studio, founded in 2012 by art director Mandy Rep and trend forecaster Sara Ingemann, is a creative hub for artistic expression and development.
The new collection is a blend of the old and the new, combining sun-bleached paper and old notebooks found in the founders' attics with modern design principles. The love of experimenting with different paper types and techniques is evident in this collection, featuring expressive graphic collages.
The circle, a motif drawn from hole-punched paper, recurs throughout the collection. This element, varying from small holes to larger circles, is often juxtaposed with other geometric shapes. The vivid interplay of primary colours against monochrome backdrops like black, white, and brown, along with the graphic collages, echoes the Dutch art movement, De Stijl. The layering of various materials and techniques, including crayon or pencil drawings, adds depth to each piece. This continuous exploration of new techniques and materials has culminated in a series of vibrant, expressive art prints.
